October, 12thDinner–  Inviting all veterans, active service personnel and their families to the 2nd Annual Spaghetti Dinner. In appreciation for all those who served our country. October, 13thArt Walk– The Southwest Montana Arts Council will hold its annual Fall Art Walk in locations around downtown Dillon. For more information, visit smacarts.org. 

October, 18th DinnerThe Fifth Annual Potato Harvest Supper will serve up the spuds 5:30-7pm at St. James Episcopal Church.  Attendees can enjoy fresh baked potatoes with a variety of fixings, along with salad and desserts, coffee, tea, and milk.  Admission is free, though donations will be accepted to benefit the St. James Building Fund to maintain and improve the church’s historic structures.  For more information, call 683-2735 or visit www.saintjamesdillon@live.com. 

October, 21stFair– The Dillon Garden Club will hold its Fall Craft Fair in the National Guard Armory Building from 9am to 3pm. Anyone interested in being a vendor at the event should call Cathy at 925-1994. 

October, 28th Mystery– A Murder Mystery Dinner put on by the Dillon Public Library will be held at The Elks Lodge. The event will begin with a 5pm cocktail hour, move on to a 6pm dinner when a victim will emerge and conclude when the culprit is apprehended.  The cost is $35 per person and $60 per couple, with proceeds going to benefit the Library.  For more information, call 406-683-4544. 

COATS FOR KIDS AND FAMILY DRIVE

The 19th Annual Coats for kids has begun, please check your closets for coats, jackets, and other winter clothing that you have no need for. Take your donations to the deposit containers at the following locations: 

Pioneer Federal Savings & Loan, Bank of Commerce, Barrett Hospital & Health Care, Stockman Bank, Womack’s Printing, Parisian Cleaners, Ruby Valley Bank, and The Radio Station.

Oct. 18th – Dinner – All you can eat spaghetti dinner and raffle sponsored by Powell county Search and Rescue at 6 p.m. at the Deer Lodge Elks

Oct. 20th – Rocktoberfest – at the Pen Convention Center from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.  Live music fundraiser for the Powell County Medical Foundation.

Oct. 20th & 21st – Creep Show – Cutler Brothers Creep Show at the Cutler Brothers theater at 7 p.m. Haunted House at the Old Prison from 7 p.m. to midnight.

Oct. 22nd – Pumpkin Sunday – at Grant-Kohrs Ranch from 1 to 4 p.m. Children 14 years old and younger are invited to “pick” the perfect pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.

Oct. 22nd – Scarecrow Contest – 3rd annual Scarecrow Contest, Main Street in Deer Lodge.  Call Julie at 560-5006 for more information.
