Rialto restoration receives gift

Restoration of the fire-damaged Rialto Community Theatre in Deer Lodge got another big boost this week with a $100,000 commitment from Pioneer Federal Savings and Loan of Deer Lodge and Dillon. $50,000 is an outright grant, and the other $50,000 is a challenge grant, with Pioneer Federal matching each dollar donated for the project up to that amount. This would make the total impact over $150,000. The Rialto board has set June 1, 2008 as the target date for matching the challenge, but hopes to reach the goal earlier, as donations are received from area residents and others throughout the country.

Total cost of the restoration project is about $3.5 million, and over $1.2 million has been raised so far.

“Pioneer Federal has been a great friend to the Rialto since our non-profit bought it in 1995,” Rialto president Steve Owens said. “They donated over $32,000 toward the sound system, piano, marquee, and other improvements we made before the fire. We’re happy they are partnering with us to do this for the community. This is a great opportunity for people to double the value of their contribution.”

The Rialto board is working with architects and engineers to develop affordable reconstruction plans. Construction is anticipated to begin this spring.

The fire of Nov. 4, 2006, destroyed the auditorium, balcony, lobby and restrooms of the historic facility. Firemen were able to save the ornate terra cotta facade, stage area with historic backdrops, sidewalls and the projection booth.

Send donations to meet the challenge grant to Box 874, Deer Lodge, MT 59722. Or, visit www.deerlodgerialto.com

ATM/Checkcard Usage-Check Images

First and foremost, THANK YOU for your continued business-we most certainly do appreciate it! Please let us know your questions or how we can better serve you.

If you are a holder of an ATM/Debit Checkcard tied to your checking account with Pioneer Federal Savings and Loan, I want to use this means to inform you of a change taking place effective September 10, 2008. Beginning Wednesday, September 10, 2008, your Checkcard will not be usable in any foreign country including Canada and Mexico unless you make specific prior arrangements with us. This change is being made to offset the rapid increase in the fraudulent usage of debit cards - much of which originates in foreign countries whether you set foot in the foreign country or not. This restriction on foreign country usage minimizes your exposure to fraud as well as that of Pioneer Federal.

Should you ever be in the situation where you will be traveling to a foreign country, simply contact our local office and we will gladly activate your Checkcard for foreign usage during your trip or stay.

If you do not now possess a Pioneer Federal Checkcard, I would encourage you to consider obtaining one. This Visa ATM/Debit card allows you access to your funds at ATM’s nationwide as well as gives you the convenience of using a Debit card rather than writing those routine every day checks. Applications and further information are available from our tellers.

Next, if you are an Internet Banking user, you may have recently noticed that Check images are now available on line for most checks written by you on your Pioneer Federal checking account. This service which is free to our Internet banking customers was rolled out as part of our improvements made under Federal Check 21 guidelines and is the first step towards eventually making e-statements readily available. Not yet an internet banking customer, then be sure to try the Demo link on our website at www.pioneerfed.com.

Should you have further questions about either this foreign country restriction or check imaging, please do contact us. Again, thank you for all your business and best wishes!
