Congratulations Scholarship Winners
2011 recipient of the Haviland Scholarship is Taylor Redfern and the 2011 recepient of the Hazelbaker Scholarship is Kate Ferris.

Pioneer Federal Savings and Loan Association is pleased to announce the awarding of the J. G. 'Jim' Haviland Scholarship to a 2011 Powell County High School graduate.

Taylor Redfern, daughter of Steve and Cathy Redfern, has been selected as the recipient of the 2011 J. G. 'Jim' Haviland/Pioneer Federal Savings and Loan Scholarship. Taylor will be attending the University of Montana this fall. Academics, school activities, school honors, and community service as well as an essay are considered in evaluating the applicants for this $1500.00 Scholarship. Previous winners of the J. G. 'Jim' Haviland Scholarship include Tanner Horne, Tyler Andersen, Kara Janes, Natasha Walth, Mathew Sewell, Brian Thompson, Erin Ryan, Cal Thompson and Andi Lambert.

In commenting on this year's Scholarship, Pioneer Federal President Tom Welch stated, "We are pleased to not only continue our tradition of giving back to the local communities but to do so in a manner which benefits another one of the talented young people in our community. We view this Scholarship as money very well spent."

In the past 9 years, Pioneer Federal Savings and Loan Association has awarded scholarships totaling in excess of $30,000.00 to graduating seniors of Powell County High School and Beaverhead County High School.
